Under the aegis of the Royal Moroccan Ski and Mountain Federation, the Sport and Nature Association and the Ifrane province, in collaboration with the Ifrane Provincial Tourism Council, the Ifrane Provincial Council and the Ifrane Commune, are organising the 16th edition of the Trail of the Cedars from 16 to 18 May 2025.
A sport, a hobby, a challenge, and strong sensations
Organised by the Province of Ifrane and the Sport and Nature Association in collaboration with CRT Meknes and the communes: Oued Ifrane, Ain Leuh, and Ifrane, the International Cedars Marathon "Trail" is a nature sports event par excellence.
It is an ideal meeting place for marathon enthusiasts whose motivations are twofold: on the one hand, self-transcendence and the improvement of their endurance in a pleasant competitive setting, and on the other hand, tourist discovery. The Cedars Trail allows one to fully experience all the facets of the Ifrane region: its nature, its landscape, and its culture.
The International Cedars Marathon covers a distance of 90km and takes place in four stages at an altitude varying between 1600 and 2100m (four nights and five days). Its well-marked and varied route crosses cedar woods, mountains, tracks, and paved roads, thus constituting a real niche for the promotion of sport and tourism in the region.
This beautiful human adventure, which is widely publicised, will see the participation this year of a large number of both nationally and internationally renowned athletes as well as simple enthusiasts and lovers of running and nature. It will also bring together many Moroccan and foreign media outlets that will cover the event extensively, thus allowing for the promotion of our country's image, and in particular the Ifrane region, in Morocco and abroad.
